Hello everyone,

This month is chock full of some really cool events that we are
involved in. Please see them below and if you have any questions, let
us know (ublg...@gmail.com). Also, check out our super amazing blog
at www.ublg.blogspot.com. Hope to see you soon!

In this e-mail:

*1. The Movement: Dance Party/Fundraiser, 10/3 (This Friday!) at 8pm ,
Langston Hughes Cultural
Center*
*2. PUSH Rally for Jobs and Housing October 8th, 4-6 p.m. Lafayette
Sq.*
*3. UB NLG Meeting Cancelled on October 8th, rescheduled for 10/6.*
*4. Save the Date! City Chapter/UB Chapter Potluck, Sunday, October
26th.*

*1. The Movement Dance Party*
Tomorrow, October 3, 8 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Langston Hughes Institute 25 High St., Buffalo, NY
(At Main and High, around the corner from Allen St. Subway stop)
$5 at the door

Looking to improve on the Buffalo's current options for dancing to
real
music, leaders of the local progressive nonprofit community have come
together to found The Movement.

Come out on October 3rd to experience the first Movement party at
Langston
Hughes, near Main and High Streets. If you've been looking for a spot
to
enjoy danceable underground hip-hop and soulful beats, you're not
alone.

The Movement seeks to raise Buffalo's movement consciousness while
providing
a space to DANCE! Veteran DJ's Cutler and LoPro will provide the
backbone,
and special guests will play backup.

Nonprofit sponsors include Buffalo First, Buffalo Reuse, PUSH Buffalo,
MAP,
the Coalition for Economic Justice and Ujima Theater. Proceeds will
benefit
the PPG--a network of social change groups in Buffalo--as well as the
Massachusetts Avenue Project.

*2. PUSH Rally for Jobs and Housing*
October 8, 4-6 p.m.
Lafayette Square
**
PUSH is gathering people from across Buffalo to let City Hall know we
won't
wait another day for its Anti-Poverty Platform to be adopted. We know
the
Platform is the right way to go because community problems need
community
generated solutions. Please come join us and let the City know that
caring
about its neighborhoods means putting people first. *PUSH has asked
the UB
Lawyers Guild to provide legal observation. If you would like to be a
legal
observer at the rally, we will be providing a short legal observer
training session before the rally.
We will be meeting at 2:45 in the lobby of O'Brian and leave for the
rally from there at 3:20pm.
Rides to the rally will be available for those who need one.
*.* Individuals who attended the legal observation training last
semester
are encouraged to test out their skills. The rally is currently
permitted;
no civil disobedience is expected.

*3. UB Lawyers Guild Meeting on 10/8 rescheduled*

Due to the PUSH Rally for Jobs and Housing, we are rescheduling our
meeting on 10/8 to occur on Monday, October 6th at 4:15pm. We will be
meeting on the 1st floor lobby of O'Brian.

*4. Save The Date! City Chapter/UB Chapter Potluck.*
October 26, Dinner Time
Location: TBA
**
Come mingle with students and help us prepare out our first every UBLG
newsletter mailing. The time and location are currently being
finalized, in the meantime, mark down your calendar for October 26th.
This promises to be the coolest potluck you will ever attend!
