I'm trying to get Universal Viewer working for an Omeka site hosted on Reclaim Hosting, but not having any success. My coding is not good but I can definitely find and modify code in a directory when I have step-by-step instructions. However, I haven't been able to find a tutorial for getting UV up and running. Does anyone have any experience doing this that can help me out? See here for my post on RH forum that explains what I've done so far and the tech's response.

Julia,

From looking at your forum post, I can’t tell if you were able to get the CORS headers set up successfully or not. Did you put that <FilesMatch> block at the end of your .htaccess file?

When your UV integration fails, what is happening? Are you seeing any errors in the browser debug console (accessible via F12)? A screen shot of your network tab in the debugger might help us, too!

thanks,

Demian

Hi, sorry for the delay. So I got UV up and running on Omeka via Reclaim Hosting, now my trouble is I can't upload a 3d object (.obj extension). I can't find any documentation about how to do this and when I try to I get an error message saying the extension is disallowed (which it shouldn't be, right?). Screen shots attached, can send more if I captured the wrong stuff.

Julia,

I think this problem is entirely on the Omeka side of the equation, so you’ll probably get better assistance from the Omeka community than from the UV list. I would guess that there’s a configuration in Omeka somewhere to restrict allowed upload types, and 3-D objects may be an atypical case that’s turned off by default… but since I am not familiar with Omeka, that’s pure speculation.

Good luck!
