Hello,

I'm trying to convert some existing 3D objects into JSON format so that I can render them in the UV. I seem to have a couple of issues:

1. Using the built-in three.js converter for OBJ to JSON seems to create files that are structured differently than the JSON in the UV 3D examples.
2. Many of my examples are raw OBJ files that have no materials associated with them, and the UV throws an error when no materials specified.

Can anyone help with getting things working?

Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Which program are you using to convert from obj to json format? We have a gitbook here that explains the process we've developed for importing an obj file from Photoscan into Blender, then exporting as three.js json format:

https://sophiedixon.gitbooks.io/photogrammetry-guide/content/exporting.html

Nefertiti was an obj file without a material:

http://universalviewer.io/examples/#?manifest=http%3A%2F%2Ffiles.universalviewer.io%2Fmanifests%2Fdemo%2Fnefertiti.json&c=0&m=0&s=0&cv=0

I created a grey texture jpg (256 x 256px) and added a new material in Blender which I applied to the object.

Regards,

Ed
