Where to get started?

Dear group,

I'd like to use UniversalViewer to display IIIF manifests on my website using my own theme. Now here's how far I got: I uploaded my image to iiifhosting.com and created a manifest. I uploaded the manifest to my server and can now view it at https://universalviewer.io/uv.html?manifest= and use the "embed" button to generate HTML code that I can embed in my website. I am puzzled as to where to go from here:

1. Is it common practice to just embed this viewer hosted on universalviewer.io into websites? Or should I host my own copy of UniversalViewer? If so, how do I do that?
2. What is https://github.com/UniversalViewer/uv-hello-world ? Opening the index.html in my browser displays an empty page.
3. Where do I put theme files, such as https://github.com/UniversalViewer/uv-en-GB-theme ?
