Several of us mentioned translation problems concerning various
strings in various languages in the "Main Discussion Area" thread
(archived in <http://groups.google.com/group/universalsubtitles/t/60a2bfd2ff3c374b>).
Of course, we can also report such problems in the "Suggestions" part
of each string in each translation file, but there is no direct
communication of these suggestions to the people who technically
manage the transifex translation.
So I thought it might be handy to have all these problems listed in
one place. So I made a Google form,
<https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEt0aE05b0toYm52UVJ6RDhFOG94bFE6MQ&ifq>,
which feeds a spreadsheet,
<https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=tKthM9oKhbnvQRzD8E8oxlQ#gid=0>,
which is publicly viewable, searchable and downloadable, and is in
turn linked to in the form.
The idea is to then give writing access to the spreadsheet to the
people who technically manage the transifex translation, so that they
can reply, e.g. in the "What is the problem?" entries.
So far, I have entered strings that are problematic in the Italian
translation. They are most likely also problematic in other languages
like French, Portuguese and Spanish, for the same reasons. But as the
spreadsheet can be reordered alphabetically according to the "English
String Text" column, whoever replies could just reply to the first
entry concerning the problem, if the answer is the same for all
languages concerned.
Just an idea.
