Dear Friends
So far I have played whistle type Flute only and I wish to play
transverse type flute. No matter how hard I may try but find it
difficult to produce smooth and melodious sound.
I will welcome guidance from the members of Universal Bansuri Group on
this matter

Dear Sharma Ji, First if all I would like to thank and welcome
you as the first member of this Universal Bansuri Group. Now 1+1 we
are 11 not 2 and in near future I hope we all Bansuri lovers from all
over the world will progress together. As for as your question
regarding Transverse V/S whistle type is concerned. I would like to
comment as follow:
1. You are a talented flute player.
2. Whistle type Bansuri is easy to play as compared to Transverse
(Side Blown} and more over it has some limitations too. The player can
not put his feelings and emotations to a good extend in this whistle
type Bansuri.
3. In transverse (Side Blown) flute the player can with the passage of
time put his feelings and emotations in his songs. This is done by
change of air pressure, change the tongue position within the mouth,
lifting the fingers in slow motion and so on……
4. I watched some videos of Mr. Khanna on You Tube. I have emailed him
to join this group but unfortunately he has not responded yet. Perhaps
he might be busy. He plays flute very well. And moreover he is a very
good and of helpful nature person. He has posted many helpful videos
on you tube. I suggest you to email him for more tips. He will
certainly help you.
5. I am also learning side blown flute. Do not worry. We are sailing
in the same boat.
6. Your wish of playing Side Blown Bansuri will be fulfilled very
soon. I pray almighty God for your success.
