Since the move, two people have asked to join this list.  So, jpmull and itayka13, this is mostly to you, but also to anyone else who swings by this list for some reason.  There are better online communities to talk with people and organize around the Unity Movement and Unity08.

This is a web forum (IE totally web based with virtually no email component) but it's by far the biggest forum for people interested in the Unity Movement to talk with others and organize.  As of my writing this post, it has 88 users (and picks up 1.2 people per day) it has 1102 posts (and picks up about 13 per day) and it generally is the most active place you can find.

This is a mailing list that was started on the same day as this Google Group.  More people joined it.  More of the people who joined tended to post.  It seemed clear that it was trying to do almost exactly the same thing as the Google Group but that it was doing it more effectively.  Weeks and weeks ago the people in this forum agreed to move to that one because it seemed best to have people as much as possible "all in one place" to pick up network benefits. As of this posting it has 15 members and 35 posts compared to this forum's 7 members (only two of whom aren't on the other list) and (with this post) 5 posts.

This isn't so much a forum as it is a repository of text related to the Unity Movement.  Anyone can edit it.  Anyone can read it.  There's no sense of a "forum" here though, it's just a community edited set of documents.

http://www.unity08.com/forum/
This is the shoutbox of the main Unity08 site.  The formatting is kind of clunky and I personally don't spend much time there because... well, it feels like I'm shouting at people and other people are shouting at everyone else.  But it's the official "forum" of Unity08 and the Unity08 insiders are more likely to read this stuff than other stuff.

This is a livejournal community.  If people were going to LJ anyway and wanted to mix some Unity stuff into that, this is available.  For now it's not so impressive, but it might grow and it's filling a need that might arise in the future.  Think of it maybe as a dormant seed.

So, if you want to stick around this google group, feel free.  If you want to post, feel free.  But, personally, I think there are better places on the net for the kinds of things that would go on here.
