I started the mailing list you're getting this very email on (with
Google) at about the same time as one on Yahoo over at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unitysupporters-general/ .

This one has five members, that has six. This one has seen no one
other than me post, that one has seen activity. I like the interface
over there better.

Moreover, mailing lists are generally more useful the more people
subscribe to them in an interest focused clump. It's a "network
effect" thing: two lists of five people are less valuable than one list
with 10 people.

What do people think of the suggestion that I stop promoting this list,
close it to new members, put a "go to the Yahoo Group" message at the
top, and we switch over to there?

If any of you actively object and wouldn't move, I won't do it, but I'd
like to get the community as "interactionful" as possible and I think
this would help.

Alternately we could suggest that the other people move over here...

Thoughts?

Greg, you're the most recent joiner, and you didn't also subscribe to
the Yahoo group as far as I can see. What do you think of this idea?

Sounds good to me.  I've joined the Yahoo Group, and have linked my Gmail to it.
