G'day lads

G'day lads, I've just joined. Are there going to be more meetings?

I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Stew Trezise, and - if this sounds like I'm confessing a lifestyle problem, it's because it is - I'm working as a full-time web developer for an agency on St Kilda Rd, Melbourne.

My passion, I've recently discovered, lies in game development however, and I've spent the last year trying to fit the excitement that is learning game design with the Unity engine in with work, life and travel. I've built a whole slew of gameplay prototypes, but sadly the closest semblance to completed work I have under my belt is www.boymeetsdinosaur.com/wheelie - coincidentally the first thing I ever tried to build.

Were it as simple as wishing it, I'd love to make games my day job, but it's a difficult transition, you can imagine, as I'm not able to become a full-time student again.

At any rate, I thought it might be a good idea to see if you guys still meet up, as it'd be great fun to meet other Unity developers.

Welcome :-)

We don't meet as much as we should. Been a while actually since we had a get together, mainly because many are busy with other meet ups every month and most of us just haven't had time to organise anything.

A few of us have discussed reviving the group, but we are still in planning stages.

We'll post something here if we do manage to get a meet up happening.
