Meeting in January

New to the group...I may be able to swing by. I'll have to hit Miltos
if I do though. What do these meetings usually consist of?

I think this is our first meeting, so just simple networking I think.

Okay, then. Sunday the 24th it is!

For the meeting itself, once everybody gets their coffee or beer we
will
1. Go around and introduce ourselves, quick and simple.
2. Go around and show each other what we are up to. I don't have a
laptop, but several people do, and I'm hoping maybe we can bring our
work on DVD or a flash drive and do a show and tell.
3. Collaborate. If anyone would like help / partnership / contracting
with a project, there will be time to discuss collaboration.

That's what I had in mind. It looks like there will be 5 or 6 of us
there so it should be a fun time, running from around 2 - 3:30 there
at the Spiderhouse.

One thing about that meeting spot is that it's difficult to get a big
enough table indoors, so last time we were outside shivering. I'd
suggest dressing warm or finding us another spot to meet at.

Spiderhouse was a cool place to hang out but it definitely was not very laptop friendly for groups of more than 1 or 2. A place more laptop friendly would be better but I haven't lived in that area of town since college so I'm not very familiar with it anymore. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm fine with Spiderhouse if no one can think of any alternatives in the area.

There's a starbucks on lamar by that chili's, couple blocks down from
central market by that chipotle that we could use as back up. there's
also a good coffee shop inside the triangle but i forgot the name
astro-something?. i'll dig it up.

It's still happening this Sunday at 2PM. About the location, my book
club used to meet at the La Madeline Cafe near the Arboretum (9828
Great Hills Trail, Austin, TX). I just called them to verify and they
still have free WiFi. It is pretty roomy and will be less crowded than
Spiderhouse.

It's getting a little late to change things around, so let's just stick to the plan. I think people are already making plans to be at Spiderhouse and I'd hate for changes to leave anyone stranded there. So:

Sunday, 2 pm, Spiderhouse Cafe. It's supposed to be sunny, so we can meet at one of the big tables in back. They're long picnic tables, wide and flat, fine for laptops.
