Hey all,

Long time no talk!

As we may have heard recently, Apple's implied threat to keep Unity
apps out of its app Store never materialized and now never will.
Details about this non-event that was freaking everyone out can be
read at David Helgason's blog here:
http://blogs.unity3d.com/2010/09/10/unity-and-ios/?mkt_tok=3RkMMJWWfF9wsRonuqjBZKXonjHpfsX77O8lXqS%2BlMI%2F0ER3fOvrPUfGjI4AT8phI%2FqLAzICFpZo2FFNFOmBZdNE

The Unity forum thread about this threat from Apple reached 266 pages
with almost 4000 entries! Wow! We're all glad that's over and everyone
talking about it can put all that good energy back into making games.
Here's the thread if you're curious: http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=48795

In other news, Unity's own Higgy B will be presenting at the upcoming
GDC Online event in October, and you can read about that here:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=155733234444157
You will need a conference pass to attend. That should be fun! I wish
I could make it.

Also please note that there is another great IGDA event going on
TONIGHT at 8 pm. This will be another Microtalks with 8 local industry
professionals speaking for 10 minutes each about a topic of their
choice. Last time this was very interesting and definitely kept the
action moving. There will be game developers present for networking or
just talking, and great pints of beer from their huge selection of
beers on tap.

I wanted to know if anyone is in the mood for a meeting! We haven't
had one for quite some time so I was thinking early October, either
right before the GDC event or right after. Sunday October 3rd would be
right before. How does that sound? I think it's time to put a little
juice back into this group and maybe even get some more people to join
us and show up! So definitely whatever people you know, lets get em
out here!

The Unity talk at GDC Online will be open to Expo Pass holders because
it's a sponsored session.

That would work for me, but there might be more to discuss after GDC than before it.

So, is there a meeting tomorrow or not?  If so, what time and where?

Should we do the Spiderhouse again? at 1 pm?

Last time the seating wasn't great, and the music was a little loud... There are some other tables around back, but does anyone have a better location?

I'm fine with spider house but one alternative that will probably be less crowded and noisy is la Madeline. They also have free wifi. The most convenient location might be the one at the Arboretum.

I'll put in a vote for Dominican Joe's off Riverside.  Should be plenty of space and they have free wifi.  Its also much close to where I live than the Arboretum. No booze though :P

Whoops, Sorry I missed you guys (I don't check this account enough :).

Is anyone going to be at GDC? I'll be there tomorrow and wouldn't mind chewing the fat with some fellow Unity developers :)

Please post it here if anything materializes.  I'm busy on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning but other than that I'm open during those days.

I just suggested 3 pm at the corner of Trinity & 2nd, which should be right outside expo hall 1, where higgy will be speaking 1:30 to 2:30. I also wrote that if people want to get together earlier for lunch at noon, to post something, but I'll be there at 3 myself.
