Thanks for the welcome Seon :)
If you don't mind me asking, what is on your marketing checklist when
you release a game? I see you've got a lot of expierence in the
industry and in fact, i played turret wars quite extensively in the
past, as our first game Bowloon was a trajectory based 3D shooter.
So our new game was just approved this morning! :) but before we
release it, I want to make sure we do everything right as far as
marketing goes this time around. Currently i have:
- press release written- I will submit to
gamespress.com and other
free news outlets when we work out a solid release date
- A media kit with screenshots, logos, promo art, etc.
- Website is up
-youtube vids
- i've hit every game and bmx forum i could find
- i'm about to send emails out to reviewers asking them if they want a
promo code.
But thats all i've got. I've also thought about paying for banner ad
space on some gaming sites, but i'm not sure which ones i could
afford.
One more Question? Do you think having a free version released
simultaneously is a must?
any insight you can give would be muchly appreciated.
Thanks again.
Jason.
