Just wanted to say hi to everyone already here and start a discussion
about how we can collectively find and encourage all other Australian
based Unity devs & Hobbyists to sign up and get involved with this
group.

Finding talented Unity devs in Oz is harder work than it should be and
having a repository here of Unity users would be a great start!

What do you all think?

Two weeks ago I made a list of all the Unity users that did put in
their profile Australia, Sydney or another oz town.

I planned at some point to send a PM to each one but it feels a bit
too much as spam.
So I prefer to wait a bit to see if they come by themselves.

Of course it also takes time to send all those PMs :D

The thing is, I only found this group by fluke after seeing (briefly) your signature on one of your Unity forum posts.

So without seeing that, I never would have found this group.

But its up to you re the contacting as you created the group. If you do decide to PM people, I am happy to help PM if you send me a copy of what you are planning to send. Alternately, I am happy to have my details on the PM too so that others see there are already members here.

Cheers :-)

One way would be to post sometimes replay to this Unity forum thread:

Australia Unity3D Users Group : http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=43480

As you can imagine I can't do it all the time or it would be too much
auto-promotion and not well accepted by the Unity moderators ;)

First step IMO would be to send it to people we already know and in
schools we go to (AIE, etc).

I just replied to that thread asking people again to PM either you or myself to get things going.

Hello,

I just joined up and thought I'd introduce myself and say 'Hello'.

I'm in Brisbane, and I am currently looking/learning Unity
(programming in Boo) for my next project. I'm just a casual hobby
programmer.

Cheers,
Phil.
