Guys,

I need a copy of the file which contains the default icons for
PCmanFM, so we can create a matching icon for the tar.xz files.

Thank you :)

Are those icons not selected by the default gtk theme?

Thank you Gettinther
so, if this is the only one used for all file types.... then ait just needs to be assigned to tar.xz, no need for a new icon, right?
I just want to make sure...

this is the pcmanfm icon for the desktop file. pcmanfm uses the
default gnome icon theme so whatever theme you are using for gnome
will apply to pcmanfm too. Is this what you mean?

Well, I'm not sure to be honest. This was a request from Devnet so I'll give a day to see if he adds any input here, and if not I will contact him directly to find out ;)

Thanks

no, the icon you want is the one that is defaulted (regardless of DE/WM) that represents an archive... like .gz .tar and the like.  Also, having it associated with archive programs that know how to handle it would be great as well... not sure if all of them currenlty handle .xz just yet...  but the "archive icon" is what would be best used in this instance.  It's technically a new filetype, so I can understand why it has no association as of yet.  But that is the association that makes the most sense in the end.
