LDAP Lookup Problem

Dear Tomáš,

We have successfully integrated LDAP and users can log in with their LDAP credentials.
However, we are facing an issue: when we try to use the lookup feature (e.g., searching for people), no LDAP users appear in the results.

Is there an additional configuration required for enabling LDAP-based person lookup in UniTime?

Dear Burak,

The tmtbl.lookup.xxx properties configure the LDAP people lookup. This is independent from the LDAP authentication (unitime.authentication.ldap.xxx properties).

#Ldap for People Lookup
tmtbl.lookup.ldap=ldap://directory.university.edu:389
tmtbl.lookup.ldap.name=ou=directory,dc=university,dc=edu
tmtbl.lookup.ldap.phone=phone,officePhone,homePhone,telephoneNumber
tmtbl.lookup.ldap.department=department
tmtbl.lookup.ldap.position=position,title

There are more properties available (e.g., if the LDAP call requires authentication or if a tree needs to be searched). See Administration > Defaults > Configuration page:

Alternatively, the LDAP lookup can be configured by the ldapPeopleLookupTemplate bean in the security context file (disabled by default, see here).

The LDAP people lookup is implemented in the PeopleLookupBackend.findPeopleFromLdap(context) call.
