Hello.  I've been searching the various reporting options for scheduled final exams that will include any cross-listed sections, ideally listing each section with a final on it's own row.  Office of the Registrar posts an exam schedule to our intranet and this is the needed format so student can locate their sections and final times assigned.

The optimal report would list each section name with a final exam event, Class Title, Date (Monday 07/28, 2025), Time (10a-1250p), Location and Instructor.  The challenge has been finding a report that captures any cross-listed courses that are included.  I've checked exam parameters and have already set several to include cross-lists, although I'm still having trouble finding something that will export to a CSV or Excel doc that retains the cross-listed courses and provides a format that doesn't require a lot of formatting after the fact.  The Departmental Timetable under the Events tab does mostly do this, but it can only be viewed by one department at a time and when exporting, the report no longer shows cross-listed sections.

Would you have any suggestions of other reports to consider or possibly creating my own report for this case.  Thanks!

Hi David,

For the Examinations > Pdf Reports page, the cross-listed sections/courses will show up when the tmtbl.exam.report.differentSubjectSections property is set to all or cross-list all. This can be changed on the Administration > Defaults > Application Configuration page.

Also, if you have exams set for the offerings, setting tmtbl.exam.name.expandCrosslistedOfferingToCourses to true will make the automatic exam naming include all the cross-listed courses in the name of the exam.

Another option would be to write a custom HQL report

Best regards,

Tomas

Thanks Tomas. Both of those configuration settings were setup already to include cross listed sections.  An aside, when I generate a PDF report the screen won't refresh unless I refresh the browser.   The generate button doesn't update to a refresh button.  Doing this makes the report run twice.  Are you or anyone else having this experience?  We're on 4.8.4

The Abbreviated schedule has most of the data that's needed, although instructor name is no included.  Do you know if there is any existing report that can be run as a CSV that includes the data from the abbreviated schedule as well as instructor name?  Course title is nice to have but not as critical as the instructor. Thanks.

Yes, the page only displays a Refresh button when there is at least one report that has been done and selected. This may have changed in UniTime 4.7 with the Struts2 upgrade. It is also possible to refresh the page by opening it again from the menu. That said, I have just moved the Refresh button to the Reports in progress section, so it is always available. The fix will appear in tomorrow's nightly build of UniTime 4.8 and 4.9.

I am not aware of an existing report that would show both cross-listed courses and instructors.

Thanks for that update.  I ended up using the Exam Assignment Report under the reports menu and not checking the box to show classes.  The cross-listed courses display in the exam titles, so I just needed to edit the CSV to meet my needs.  So that works as a process.  I may export a custom report to better automate this in the future.

Thanks again for all of your help. David
