I got this email from Steve (CORBA)
===============================================================================================
Tomorrow, June 2, the state legislature' s budget
conference will consider the proposal to close 80% of the state parks starting
in July. On the list of parks to close are
- Sycamore Canyon (Pt Mugu SP)
- Malibu Creek SP
- Topanga SP and Will Rogers SHP (Caballero Canyon,
Top of Reseda, Eagle Rock, Rogers Road, Parker Mesa Overlook,
etc)
You can help by letting your state representatives
know that you are opposed to the parks being closed. This link makes it really
easy:
It takes less than a minute. All you have to do is
fill in your name and address, and if you like, modify the message they will
get. The result will be that you state representative, state senator and state
governator will recieve a fax (not an email) with your message.
Do it now because tomorrow will be too
late! The parks may be on an irreversible path to closure by then. Once
closed, it will take years to get them operating properly again.
For more information on the proposed (and expected)
closure of 80% of our state parks, visit this link:
