UNC PRO DR. KIRK MEIGHOO TO SEEK ADVICE AND PURSUE LEGAL ACTION
AGAINST SYMON DE NOBRIGA AND OTHERS FOR SHARING FAKE SCREENSHOT
On Sunday 30 November, I was alerted to the fact that MP Symon de Nobriga and others shared an image on Facebook and other social media platforms, purporting to be a WhatsApp from me, Dr. Kirk Meighoo, giving instructions to others to -- among other things -- lie, make fraudulent misrepresentations, and commit other unethical, deceptive and wrongful acts.
The graphic and message was a pure fabrication, obviously malicious in intent, seeking to defame.
Upon learning of this I immediately put up a post on my Facebook page and personal profile, to alert the public that this was a fake image put up by the PNM.
Indeed, it is not the first time this has been done and for years now, I have had to refute several fake press releases, messages, and other fake communications, which were fraudulently made to appear to come from me.
It is clear that the PNM cannot argue fairly and must resort to these defamatory lies in order to try to make a case. It gives me some satisfaction, however, that despite these desperate attempts, they still lose.
I have now asked my attorneys to advise me on and proceed with any legal courses of action that are available to me.
