ON HER RE-ELECTION AS POLITICAL LEADER OF THE UNITED NATIONAL CONGRESS
The National Executive of the United National Congress (UNC) extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, on her re-election—unopposed—to the post of Political Leader of our great party.
Prime Minister Persad-Bissessar’s unchallenged return as Political Leader is not only a testament to her unwavering commitment and fearless leadership, but to the deep trust, admiration, and confidence that the UNC membership and national community continue to place in her.
Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. She shattered many glass ceilings on her way to becoming the first woman Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago in 2010, and she has now made history once more by leading the UNC back into Government for a second time under her leadership. Few political leaders in our nation’s history—or indeed the region—can match such a feat.
Hers is a deeply inspiring story of resilience, vision, and relentless determination.
The entire National Executive proudly stands behind the Hon. Kamla Persad-Bissessar as we move forward together to fulfill the mandate entrusted to us by the people. We look to the future with renewed hope, knowing that our Political Leader is a woman of unmatched courage, clarity, and conviction.
