United continues to eye charters; improvements coming on 777s

Business class travelers on the United Airlines route can expect to
see improvements in the coming months, said James Mueller, vice
president of Atlantic and Pacific sales for United Airlines.
"We're adding Economy Plus on all our aircraft, including the ones
that Continental had been using in the past to service Guam - that's
extra legroom for customers traveling in Economy Class."
Also, he said, "Later this summer we're going to start upgrading all
of our aircraft globally with on-board WiFi service." Mueller said
such services had been requested. The 777 planes on the Guam-Hawaii
route, which have not been popular since their introduction, will
receive some upgrades, likely early in 2013, he said. "We've made a
decision to go ahead and replace the premium seats on the 777s that
we've been using to serve the Guam market since last fall. In the
premium cabins we're going to be installing newly-refurbished seats
that have greater seat pitch and greater recline relative to the seat
found there today. ... We're happy that we'll be able to provide
footrests once again to the customers."
