UAC Constitution Final!!

Hello everyone,

 

We finally have finished work on the constitution and hereattached is the final copy. I encourage all of us to read this carefully so that all of us are on the same page as we officially establish this document as our founding constitution for this organization.

 

Please, take note of Article XII, which officially establishes this constitution by the founding members. At this point in time, we define the founding members as all those who are on this group site and show up at the next meeting to take part in establishing the constitution. Because it is important to have all the members of the constitution draft committee endorse this document, any of the members that took part in drafting/revising the document and may happen to not be able to make it to this consititution establishment meeting (for being out-of-town) shall be given the chance to sign the document as soon as they are available. One signed copy shall be filed with an appropriate archive center to be determined at the establishment meeting and one shall be in the keeping of the Exco and one with the Representative Council.

 

After this meeting, the organization comes into full being, with a constitution. The other key item to be decided upon at this establishment meeting is the election of Transition Officers as per the transition clause of Article XII. Thereafter, these officers shall assume full responsibilities as an initial exco and get the organization off the ground (see the transition clause for additional details).

 

I will communicate the venue for the meeting in the coming days as I finalize the arrangements, but the date has been tentatively pinned on Thursday July 28th, 2011 at 3 pm.

Please, it is extremely important for us to be at this meeting.
