Title: Semantic-Annotated Model Transformation By Example
Abstract:
Integration is one of the driving themes in current database and applied computing research. Numerous techniques have been proposed so far to deal with the interoperability of heterogeneous information
systems. These techniques can be classified into two main types: matching and transformation approaches. Matching techniques automatically identify semantic alignments or correspondences between two schemas A and B, whereas transformation techniques, remodel
data compliant to schema A to data conforming to schema B. These remodelling definition has to be specified manually by the modeller. This approach is error-prone and time consuming. To combine these two techniques by using instance examples in an intelligent
manner is one of the key challenge in future researches.
This proposal suggests a framework that uses instance examples to combine matching and model transformation techniques. We therefore extend a given model by annotating it with model example information.
Therefore the distribution of the attribute values as well as dependencies between attributes and elements are analysed. The gained information is used to identify potential matches and can be interactively redefined by the users feedback. The generated transformation
definition can be exported in a metamodel transformation language. This framework is built on a meta-metalayer architecture and provides generic transformation functions to handle different representations of attribute values.
Kind regards
Elyse
