Title: Approaches to digital and traditional preservation management in Australian libraries and archives:
refining research methodology
Abstract: The effective management of preservation has become a key issue for memory institutions in the context of challenges presented by new digital materials and in a climate of limited resources.
The research will investigate the various approaches to digital and traditional (physical) preservation management, with special reference to Australian libraries and archives, with a view to uncovering areas of disconnect and synergy.
The methodology suggested in the original research proposal, based on a qualitative approach, involved qualitative interviews, with triangulation being used to cross validate information. This session provides a 'snapshot' of why and how the methodology
has been refined during the development of draft interview questions.
Kind regards
Kerry
