what are rx-buffer-size and tx-buffer-size mean?

Found these two in conf/unimrcpserver.xml, but cannot find any explainations on http://www.unimrcp.org/manuals/html/ServerConfigurationManual.html

These parameters specify size of rx and tx buffers used to receive/parse and generate/send MRCP messages to/from network. The buffers are allocated from APR pools. Generally speaking, you can make them bigger without any concerns.
