Greetings All,

The streets surrounding campus were strangely empty as I came in to church this morning. No more moving vans or family cars double parked being packed with belongings. The number of pedestrians (especially under the age of 25) was drastically reduced. It's a welcome change from the chaos of Tuesdays at UniLu (especially when there's a full moon like yesterday)

The news this week:

  • Reminder: Wednesday Night Bible Study, 6PM, Thursday Mid-day Eucharist, 10 past noon
  • Sunday, May 25, Worship Assistants, Music Scheduled
  • MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND PEACE OBSERVANCES
  • Lutheran Disaster Response, how you can help people internationally or domestically recover from chaos.
  • Mark you calendar Pastor Wiesner's first Sunday
  • Stewardship Reminder:
  • Next Door at IHouse
  • Calling painters/photographers/other two-dimensional artists

Mark you calendar Pastor Wiesner's first Sunday with us as our new pastor will be June 15th, the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost. Andrew is planning some special music and recalling the choir from their summer hiatus, and Sue Schmitthenner and Dorothy Linderman have planned a special coffee hour for that week.

A Stewardship Reminder

Council asked that we share with you all a reminder that as vacation season approaches, the expenses of the congregation continue. If you are planning on being away from church for a period of time and are able to make your offering contribution ahead of time, it can help our treasurer keep the bills current.

Greetings!

Included in this week's newsletter is information regarding giving opportunities for those able to help those recovering from natural disasters.  Some of you prefer to make your gifts for this through UniLu, or choose not to use a credit card (or perhaps don't have a credit card).  We are happy to accept such gifts on your behalf and forward them along to Lutheran Disaster Relief.  In order for your gifts to be routed appropriately, please clearly mark your check or use one of the offering envelopes available in the pew racks with an appropriate designation.  Acknowledgement of such gifts will be part of your regular UniLu giving statement, and will not come separately from Lutheran Disaster Relief.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Peace,
Charlie
