Repower best practices, prep,execution and other tasks to coordinate

This week my 36 comes out into the boat yard for a repower of the twin Chrysler 440s. I've been scrambling to do as much of that work as I can. Does anyone have a task list, suggestions of specific and valuable nature, sources for quick parts and also ideas like new wire harnesses and other tools to refresh that "older" engine compartment. 

First time for me - this adventure or misadventure as it can be.
