I guess I'm not sure yet, there's about 400 people in this group, but I can't imagine that the total amount would be interested in weekly strategy type calls, plus with that many voice I think it could get out of control pretty quickly. This is why we were thinking text based. If it turns out we only have 10-15 people interested, I think voice would work.
So here's the question to the list: Reply back if you're interested in participating in these discussions, and do you prefer voice or text?

I agree with text. I am sure people will phase in and out of the discussion so that would provide a contextual continuum. I also recognize I can talk faster than I can write.

So, VoIP (SIP. NOT SKYPE) or PSTN, with XMPP chat.
If the voice conference is moderated, with XMPP being used to ask for
the mike, then we can do many more people.
