Hello Everybody!

I would like to know if there is any Training and Certification
Program that addresses the Unified Communications industry
specifically and one that you would recommend?

Thanks
Pavi

Applied Learning Solutions “Unified Communications, Web 2.0 and MICE”
is a comprehensive 2 day course. It was designed specifically to
provide the essential skills and knowledge needed to work with Unified
Communications protocols, architectures and system testing and to
understand where Unified Communications fits into the overall industry
direction.

Applied Learning Solutions, “Unified Communications Solutions Sales
Training”

Unified communications has meant different things to different
people, depending on what part of the market they represent.

Example: Network vs Application vendors

The Unified Communications industry is starting to grow and from that
growth, there is consensus between vendors that states that Unified
Communications is a “Strategy” not a “Technology”.

Many Enterprises are just beginning to migrate to Unified
Communications. How does your product or service support an
Enterprise’s migration to Unified Communications?

HOW?

-Teaching the sales organization how to:

* Identify, qualify, propose and close strategic deals

* Understand the Unified Communications portfolio and
recognize the characteristics of a Unified Communications strategy.

*Incorporate solutions selling methodology when positioning
Unified Communication solutions to customers

-Identify top challenges in the migration to Unified
Communications

-ask pertinent questions to help identify
customer’s critical communication requirements

-collect data about the customer’s existing ICT
environment

-Solve the challenges through consultative selling

-Map the solution offering to product offering

-Understand how to position the value of your
solutions

-Compare and contrast solutions in a Unified
Communications portfolio

-Propose the complete solution

Using the sales plan we can demonstrate that a solution is comprised
of premises, network, hosted and mobility services, which results in a
reduced Total Cost of Ownership, improved productivity and business
process improvements.

Please give me a call to further discuss your needs in detail.

Pavi,
Interesting timing on your question. My company just release a book
about Unified Communications titled: "Unified Communications
Solutions: A Practical Business and Technology Approach." We also
have an associated certification, the NCTS (Nortel Certified
Technology Specialist). The book prepares you for the exam. Prometric
proctors our exams for us.

Since I am hardly a neutral party (It is my job to promote the book),
I'll avoid a recommendation.

For the most part, it is vendor-neutral content that addresses the key
challenges faced by businesses considering UC deployments. Rather
than approaching UC as a stand-alone technology, it focuses on the
business processes (such as supply chain, CRM, Sales Effectiveness)
and how integrating communications into these processes via UC will
improve results. It is divided into 4 parts:
The Evolution of Messaging
Solving Enterprise Business Communications Challenges
Implementing Unified Communications Solutions
Securing VoIP, SIP, and Unified Communications Solutions

More info at www.nortel.com/nortelpress , including a free download of
the first three book chapters. Book can be purchased there or on
