Using $Title=substr($row[Title],0,100) retrive very minimum character while using nepali unicode.

Dear friends,
I have got some problems while using substr($row[Title],0,100)
function in php mysql through using nepali unicode.
Above function didn't retrive actual amount of character i.e 100 than
using in english language(fonts)
Do you have got any idea?
