All our graduate students know that it is a prerequisite for every PhD student to present his/her research work at a scientific meeting -Departmental seminar, local/international conference etc.  This gives an opportunity for the work to be criticized for further improvement.  Such fora also make you to discover what others are researching on so that we don't keep re-inventing the wheel.  It creates an opportunity to start up new relationships of friendship/collaboration etc.  We have done well at departmental seminars and local conferences like Science Expo.  Some colleagues have made strides in the international scene.  I opine that we take more opportunities in Cameroon so that we can also be visible in the national scene.  I challenge all PhD students to prepare and submit challenging abstracts, posters and papers at the upcoming CBSS annual conference coming up in December 2016.  More information available at the website http://www.camerounbiosciences.org/index.php/home23rdconference It is only when you challenge your writing skills that you can discover the secrets of scientific communication.  It could be the star of a manuscript destined for Nature or other high-ranking journals.  I am sure you will not regret it if you give it a trial.  The fineness of every invention is a result of crrections made on several tials, so try your hands!!
