Hello,

I tried several attempts to init a new DU MSCP disk with qbone.

RSX is booting from DU0 - using a sysgened image and UDA 0

drive DU1 is connected with UDA 1 to a scratch disk

There's no way to init the new drive.

first attach DU1: to Terminal tt00:
mount DU1: /FOR as foreign device

INIT with all variants of /Bad_blocks does not work -
RSX11 can't find the bad sector file.

Anybody has done this before - INIT a new drive?

What cmds I've to use?

Infos:
UIC is 200,200 - system device is DU0:

regards
Michael

problem solved! Thank's to joe meyer

The BAD Task is needed for doing a correct INIT of a RSX11MPlus Volume.

With the distribution kit the BAD task is on the disk, but not installed.

If you use SET DCL to use the Dec Command Language instead of the MCR and there use the INIT command it will fail! But there is no error message

If you install the BAD.TSK with the INS before under MCR the INIT command (DCL) will work without an error.

Michael
