Help with backing up SD card and System

I have a Blinkenboard project, and I'd like to create a backup of the card and whatnot. The SD card is unreadable on my PC or Mac. What's a good way of going about it, step by step?

Update: I managed to successfully dupe my card using https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
