So, I tried another version rt11v3 on a different boot and EDIT worked as it is supposed to.

I will try v4 and v5 to see if they offer any difference.

Perhaps V5.5 is expecting different keyboard codes?

The hunt continues. I at lease am now operational with EDIT.

Boy, what a learning curve !
