UNHene...@gmail.comGreetings,
The Eliot (ME) Energy Commission has been awarded funds from the Dept of
Environmental Protection to support an internship.
We have completed a greenhouse gas inventory and are drafting a climate
action plan. We created town ordinances that support small-scale wind and solar. There's an experimental tidal turbine. In all of these initiatives we are among the first towns in Maine! We also
received a grant to analyze town buildings for energy efficiency, and are
recipients of another grant to create a revolving loan fund for
weatherization and alternative energy installations. On top of that, we are
launching a residential Carbon Challenge this week.
There's a lot going on in Eliot and we need your help!
We are looking for a dynamic and organized student - team player, self-starter, resourceful, gregarious, great communicator with database skills, passionate
about energy and sustainability, interested in things like wind turbines and
community action.
You will be part of the Commission on an interim basis, meeting every
month. You will be under the supervision of the EEC and the DEP, but operate
independently on a range of initiatives. There is a nice stipend, beyond the
obvious points on your resume. The DEP internship description is attached, but will evolve as needed.
More details about the internship goals and objectives are available directly from the Eliot Energy Commission.
