Hi Jake & co.,
On behalf of the Collegiate Energy Association and the New England Clean Energy Council, I am excited to invite your club to participate in the New England Energy Exchange. We hope that up to 4 representatives from the UNH Energy Club will join representatives from clean energy companies and twelve other energy clubs from across New England for a reception and dinner. The Energy Exchange will be held on Tuesday, April 27th, 5:30 - 9:00 pm in the Stata Center on MIT's campus (32 Vassar St., Cambridge, MA).
The New England Energy Exchange is designed to celebrate the accomplishments of energy clubs in the past year, while also fostering collaboration and connections for the forthcoming year. We hope your club can use this event to build new relationships with other clubs as well as with local and regional energy companies, laying the groundwork for future collaborations between both clubs and companies. With this in mind, we would like to encourage that the invitations be extended to incoming club leaders as well as current leaders.
Aligned with these goals, the event program is as follows:
5:30 - 6:00 pm: Reception
Come enjoy complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres and mingle with energy club leaders and clean energy company representatives.
6:00 - 6:45 pm: Energy club highlights
We ask that each club deliver a casual 5 minute presentation highlighting the club's activities over the past year. The presentation could be a review of a single successful project or an overview of several activities that your club sponsored. A projector will be available for power point slides or referencing your club's website.
7:00 pm - 7:45 pm : Dinner & Discussion, round 1
Participants will sit in groups centered on discussion topics while they enjoy a free buffet dinner. We will follow up with participants about their areas of interest following their RSVP.
7:45 pm - 8:30 pm: Dessert & Discussion, round 2
Participants change seats and a second round of topical discussion will take place over dessert.
Unfortunately, space is limited. We hope you and your club can send 4 representatives (current and incoming officers) that will be excited to hear about regional energy clubs and engage with clean energy companies. As mentioned, we will also ask one representative to give a short presentation. Interested participants should RSVP by Friday, April 16th by filling out this form:
If your energy club would like to send more than 4 representatives, please contact me (mjs...@mit.edu) and we can check if there will be space. As the date comes closer, we will follow up with which specific companies will be in attendance and contact participants about their preferred areas of interest for the round-table discussions.
Regards,
Matt Smith
