THE B-MOVIE FESTIVAL RETURNS TO SYRACUSE, NY FOR 9TH YEAR

ANNOUNCES LOCATION CHANGE AND SCHEDULE FOR OCT 10TH-12TH, 2008

 

B-Fest To Play At The Newly Renovated Westcott Theater

 

The B-Movie Film Festival, celebrating its 9th year in Syracuse, NY, is set to announce the motion picture schedule for this year’s event!

 

First though, B-Fest is on the move – we’ll be showing all weekend at the newly renovated Westcott Theater at 524 Westcott St, Syracuse.  B-Fest will be the first movie event in the newly renovated venue.

The Festival has received confirmation that representatives from 13 of the motion pictures will be in attendance during BFest.  Some highlights include:

 

  • A showing of “Clay”, which was produced in Central New York and is wrapping up a very successful Film Festival run;
  • Two films starring Mexico’s legendary wrestler Mil Mascaras, both rarely seen and unavailable on DVD at this time;
  • “Ski Wolf”, shot and produced in Rochester, NY;
  • “The Two Plates” festival premiere, from 2006 B-Fest Best Picture winner Jonathan Straiton;
  • “London Betty”, from 2005 B-Fest Best Picture winner Thomas Seymour; Q&A’s with filmmakers following nearly every movie showing;
  • Midnight showings both Fri & Sat.
  • FREE attendance to the awards ceremony.
  • And much more!

 

The Festival will be held Oct 10th-12th.  It is sponsored in part by Big Picture DVD Superstore in Liverpool; Half Penny Pub in Armory Square, Singers Karaoke Bar in Solvay; Sohota Palace Indian Restaurant in Liverpool; and LeMoyne Manor in Liverpool.

Word from the promotor himself from the Cincinnati Horror Film Festival - "Clay" takes second, sounds like it deserved first...
 
"Everyone liked Clay. They thought it was very original and shot very well. I think the split screen action and shots were a hit with the fans. If it makes any difference, you came out with an award, 2nd place for best feature film. I think the other movie beat you simply because it was a local film and the fans really wanted to see the hometown boy do well."

Ron,

I wish I was going to be in town for this, it looks exciting!  Glad to see it's at the Westcott.  Good luck with it and hopefully I can make it next year.
