Google Home 00:50 buy track about Headcheese is from Kamloops, BC, this is their first record for Neon Taste and the follow-up to last years demo.12 tracks of brash, alienated frustration that ride the early-80's, tuneful approach of hardcore punk. No slave to speed but no sacrifice to power either. This is the kind of exciting, gutsy punk rock that hooked me on the shit the first time I heard it.
The kind of music that's had me dedicated to finding more of the same. I still feel every damn hook and this record has plenty of them.
Good hardcore punk speaks for itself and we think the message here is loud and clear.

Thin Thread 03:03 buy track 14. So What 01:43 buy track about Hello, nostalgia! I'm sorry it has taken what feels like, in the digital age, light years to get this album onto Bandcamp.
This was the first album I made with Manuel, Juri, Alberto, the trio who became Ice Cream on Mondays. We recorded this in Manuel's basement studio, mostly with SM57s, and it was a labor of love in the very very very truest sense. We had no money to produce it, and everyone that worked on it did it for free, from the musicians to the engineers to the artists who designed and did the layout.
This was my first time to play with a group of musicians who seemed to really get my music and who wanted to come along for the ride. I was charmed by their talent, their sense of humor, the way we all played so well together. They gave me so many gifts, foremost of which was endless encouragement. They believed in the music we were making long before I did, and I will always be eternally grateful for the time and energy they - especially Manuel Schicchi - invested in the albums I made with ICOM.
Some of my favorite, and most honest songs, are on this record. "Gone" has probably reached/touched more people than any other song I've ever written. The title track and "Borrowed Time" are two of my favorite ballads, and I'll always love the sweet goofiness of "The Maybe Love Song."
There's a lot that's wrong with this album - it's pretty lo-fi, it's pitchy in parts, and in another world maybe we could have taken this to a label who would have seen it for the demo it probably was and said, "hey ragazzi, let's cut this with Neumanns and a Neve board and make it sound like gold." But already by 2005, those days were pretty much over, and we decided to dance with the one that brung us, so to speak. This little album helped get us booked in the US and in Europe and its nominal success gave us the courage to tackle "Little Films" a year later.
All faults aside, I'm still proud of it and all the work that everyone put into it. Life is short, and our chances are few.
Grazie, y'all.

All in Due Time 02:05 lyrics buy track You say I'm sprinting against the wind Said I should slow it down Speak up! I'm listening, but I'll sleep when I'm in the ground From a height I find trouble identifying You suppose your prayers weren't enough Years of trying left my stone heart untouched We soiled our soles; we trampled upon this tiny crowded globe It's a shame, a tragedy I know to love you I had to leave 2. One Three Nine 03:42 lyrics buy track Stuck inside, twelve more hours, and I don't speak Thai Usually I rely on my wit to get me by but not this time Humor translates poorly for me And I've tried but I cannot slip past security So visas cost about eleven American But my debit card is at home in the top right dresser drawer I feel alone for the first time in years My bags are in their place, tucked away, locked up in transit You caught a train; you made your way across town Where you thought that I would be but I let you down I'm catching a plane today And I'm missing my chance to cross paths Another trip through Bangkok goes to wasteInternational airspace is no place for me to stay Had things turned out differently This might have been a love story We're all racing to locations one to another Hoping to meet other brilliant novas Sometimes we hit; sometimes we miss It's all the same 3. Cut Your Ties 02:29 lyrics buy track I apologize; it's not what you want me to say You kept me always an arm's length away I was in a flood without you You kept me above the surface Have I exhausted all my options? I have seen into the windows of my own house There's much work to do but I'm stubborn and I'm proud I was in a flood without you You kept me above the surface Have I exhausted all my options? 4. Ein Berliner 03:26 lyrics buy track The divide, falling down, reunites a whole town They made love in the streets Berlin Wall beneath their feet Twenty-five years ago I wasn't born, but I am told My father saw on the news they report As a boy, with wide eyes, he saw the world surprised At the end of the war, the cold war We were appalled to find our race, human race, inanimate Some were made of more heart than their brawn, still they were strong A dictator shares his ruthless might Some break down, are crushed in the fight Grandfather worked in factories With both hands near machinery Always close to fire, his desire Raise a family, see it gardened, and well fed Times are changing but I remain the same I'm always changing The world stays the same 5. Just a Job 02:08 lyrics buy track Some friends ask how I'm doing these days I'll say, all is fine, nothing's changed Distances, motorcars can't fix it No one wants to listen All I wanted was to win you all over Now I'm learning; I'm letting go She shot me in the shoulder right above the heart It put me on the ground, but I'm back up and running now 6. Fjord 03:46 lyrics buy track I like to kick off my shoes and rest my feet I enjoy my break; I've been standing all day It keeps me from a pressure fracture; I might collapse here There's a dark cloud o'er my head I'll try not to get rain on anyone else I toss like the seaIn my bed there's a vacancy I'll leave all her letters unanswered Soon she'll stop making an effort You'll go your own merry way Happens when you rearrange 7. Traffic 03:41 lyrics buy track An angry man lifts his fists to the sky Yells at each passerby Someday I'm afraid I am gonna die Just trying to get things right I wish there was a way I've got to find my way I'm not a poet A philosopher Don't have the answers Just second guesses Time is on my side The workweek keeps me satisfied A fool is assured that he is right Disputes with all his might Experts agree, people need relief I'm not a poet A philosopher Don't have the answers Just second guesses 8. Winter in Wichita 02:56 lyrics buy track Breakfast in bed; Jes made french toast I am a houseguest; they are the hosts I leap from the covers joining at the table We make big circles around the house Truman the dog tries to make me a mouse Predict it in a painting: infidelity runs in my family I buried her; I'll bury you Falling asleep I'm filled with animosity Like hawks hone in, prey, they don't stand a chance 9. Correspondence 03:20 lyrics buy track I wish I could be on the road Living your adventure I hope you grow You see things you don't expect Your heart grows inside your chest I'm so glad you'll find yourself I haven't seen you since You left the continent This must be remedied Young lady you are a lovely bright morning star and soul Some day you will find a home 10. Sarah Sells Shoes 02:55 lyrics buy track It's been ages; I've missed you Having you around, the late-night capers They could never trace us I've wondered, haven't known what you were up to, how you had grown Well, how have you done? Surviving the heat With the kids to the sides at your feet Let me acquaint you My friend Sarah sells shoes Oh! It's midnight, hiding in the dark There were sparks We were reclining on the edge in Emerald Park With our sleeping bags underneath And our hearts on our sleeves Let me acquaint you both My friend Sarah sails... My friend Sarah tells me she found another friend 11. Pocketful of Hesitation 04:03 lyrics buy track Our lips went for a stroll last evening around nine I meant to introduce them when your mouth met mine Is this what nearly falling off a cliff feels like, in your eyes, on the edge, faltering? A pocketful of hesitation, and I'll never know what could have been so grand A spoonful of your love could cure my hopeless state I am tempted to stay around We could take advantage of tonight and have an elevator ride To the top of the Ferris Wheel where the operator will hold it still Surprise in the familiar; there can be comfort in the unknown A pocketful of hesitation, and I'll never know what could have been so grand A spoonful of your love could cure my hopeless state I am tempted to stay around Well, we never went to ride the Ferris Wheel about Fjord is an album about splintered people living in a fractured age.
