I learned some new things about Minsky, Lerner, and MMT while listening to this talk by L. Randall Wray:

There is discussion of the economic debates concerning the role of monetary policy (central bank operations) versus fiscal policy (federal budget automatic stabilizers) as the more effective means to stabilize the unstable (financial market driven) economy.
