It turns out that Home Depot has a one day online special of $200, today only (http://www.homedepot.com/p/FLIR-ONE-Thermal-Imaging-Camera-for-Android-757928/206480277). Or, that’s how it was presented to me, can’t know for sure with browser tracking.

I would really like to see how much electricity my dryer use. I think that it is not very much, but would like to have a watt meter that works with the 240V outlet or dryer cord (stove, too) cord.

Here is an alternative to the FLIR One, the FLIR C2. Perhaps it is worth the extra expense to get a simpler solution:

Another use for a FLIR is finding moisture in boats, and overheated wiring:

I can imagine putting the device in a box with guidance to a blog where we post projects and invite users to demonstrate how they use the camera.
