Hi Everyone,

Writing you from the freshly coated icy tundra of Illinois! We finally
had some real snow this winter, and it only took until January to show
up!
Here's what we'll be discussing this edition:
1. new bands
2. newest releases

1. NEW BANDS!!!!!
We've had a few new bands join our roster in the last few months and i
wanted to remind you about them in case you haven't stopped by
http://undercomm.org lately.

First off, we have the HEAT TAPE from Makanda, IL. This band is
fronted by our buddy Brett Hunter from the Copyrights / Dear Landlord
and are more akin to bands like the Marked Men, the Thermals, Scared
of Chaka or the Exploding Hearts...rather than the pop punk
awesomeness of his more established bands. They have a stripped down,
lo-fi, simple as it can get sound with hooks galore that beat their
way into your brain. They released an album last year with Red Scare,
and the new 4 song 7" we're releasing is even greater than their
amazing full length, I think you'll all be stoked on it too. They're
heading to Europe at the end of February too...so if you're from
Europe, you might have a chance to see them soon, I'll send out the
tour itinerary very soon. We'll have these 7"s either later this month
or within the first few weeks of February, in time for their tour
across the pond.
Please go LIKE their facebook page here:

...and in the meantime, stream their debut album at their bandcamp
page: http://theheattape.bandcamp.com

next up is EASTLAND DISASTER from Chicago, IL. We’ll be releasing the
debut 7″ for Chicago’s Eastland Disaster this spring/summer. The band
is comprised of Dan and Gina Knapik & James Farn, all of whom have
been busy bodies over the years and have spent time in countless bands
like Not Rebecca, Venom Lords, the Black Sheep Band, Duress, Kamikaze
Eyes, Textbook, Scotia Widows…just to name a few. They’re three of the
nicest folks you’d ever want to meet and a really great band on top of
that. I’m honored to be working with such amazing people and I hope
you’ll enjoy their EP as well, you can hear 3/4 songs that will appear
on it on their facebook page, give em a "LIKE"

on their "band profile" tab to check out the media player. I just saw
them play on Friday night and holy shit were they great!

2. NEWEST RELEASES!!!!
head over to www.undercomm.storenvy.com

Methadones "Not Economically Viable" LP re-issue is finally out!
the genius 2004 album, re-mixed, remastered by the amazing Matt
Allison(he recorded some of your favorite albums, trust me) - all
shined up, with a bonus track and all new artwork on delicious red
vinyl with a download code! Arguably the bands finest hour too...
Compare the new version to your old CD version, you mind will be
blown: http://undercomm.bandcamp.com/album/not-economically-viable

Cutman "Universal Laws" LP
the debut full length from Gainesville, FL noise rockers have been
getting some awesome press, people are stoked about the album, we're
stoked we finally got these guys to put it out, they're one of our
favorite bands. So if you're into bands like Jawbox, Nomeansno, Jesus
Lizard, Quicksand, ie: awesome post hardcore, this band will not
disappoint! The LP comes with a download code too. We'll also have the
CDs in this week finally! Also the vinyl has the coolest album cover
we've ever put out, I'm going to post a video of the hand assembly
process, they're all silk screened and beautiful!
stream the album at: http://undercomm.bandcamp.com/album/universal-laws

Vacation Bible School "Ruined the Scene" LP
Chicagoland's once greatest hidden secret. This pop-punk masterpiece
can be compared to the Vindictives or maybe the Vandals, so think
kinda snotty, angry pop punk about girls ruining your life and hating
the world, so it's pretty much the funnest record to sign along to
you'll hear all year. These dudes were the underdogs for the longest
time and we're so proud to see them start getting some love. They're
even doing a split 7" with the Brokedowns this year on It's Alive
Records, which is is gonna rule!

Capital "Givers Takers" LP
Hands down the best hardcore band in America right now...well in my
opinion. This album was self recorded, then mixed and mastered by
Chris Hannah from Propagandhi and is the penultimate realization of
what Capital has been doing in their 6 or 7 years of existence.
Features Tommy Corrigan from Silent Majority on lead vocals with
members of Iron Chic, Thieves and Assassins and the Reformation.
Stylistically all over the map, but focused and powerful. I love this
album more than I will ever be able to explain...just give this album
a chance, you'll understand what I mean.
