Iheard that with Fiddler you can get it to work, because the reason it normally crashes is that it tries to access resources on www.minecraft.net site that are no longer available, but with the proxy software Fiddler, you can intercept communications from the Minecraft client, and then send the response that Minecraft is expecting for requests it makes that can't possibly be be properly responded to by the current minecraft.net server (Mojang's server is no longer configured to work with Indev versions of Minecraft). Unfortunately when launching MC 0.31 from the new launcher it seems to not be able to properly receive the responses from Fiddler. Did Mojang intentionally block responses from Fiddler in their design of the new launcher, to prevent this trick from successfully starting MC version 0.31? Did they make it so that the new launcher actively intercepts the packets sent by Fiddler, so that non-Mojang-approved packets don't reach Minecraft? If so, is there another way to get it started without using 3rd party launchers? I don't want to use 3rd party launchers because they may violate Mojang terms of service, as some 3rd party launchers allow you to play the full version of the game for free (which is NOT what I'm trying to do).

Don't be ridiculous, Mojang doesn't care that much. Mojang is not freaking intercepting requests; that would take too much work. Especially on such an old version; I mean, who the hell would care if someone pirated Indev? And as for 3rd party launchers, none of them violate the EULA unless you get some shady one. MultiMC, and ATLauncher are perfectly legal.


On to the point...If you're trying to start the launcher itself on the proxy, that's the problem. Just add "-Dhttp.proxyHost=localhost" and "-Dhttp.proxyPort=8888" to the beginning of the launch arguments in the launcher. Make sure you have "Unmatched requests passthrough" enabled in Fiddler as well. The launcher DOES support proxies, however they have to be SOCKS4 (as far as I can see), HTTP proxies don't work on the launcher itself, they do however work if you enable it as a launch argument.


You are aware that it's basically impossible to intercept packets to see if they are "mojang" approved. Mostly because you can't "approve" web traffic, there is literally no way to put a digital signature on PACKETS. Mojang is not out to get you, and they certainly don't care what you do with the game if you own it, and you don't distribute it or make it possible for people to play pirated.


The apple is a type of food item that refills . Apples were introduced to Minecraft in Indev 0.31. Originally, apples were valuable items that were rarely found only in dungeon chests. Later in the game, they could come from being dropped by leaves off of oak trees (0.5%). Apples can be crafted into golden apples and into Notch apples, the latter being uncraftable in all versions as of 1.9.


Indev (short for In Development) was the second development phase of Minecraft's Survival mode, which succeeded Survival Test in Classic Mode. The Indev phase ran from December 23, 2009 to February 23, 2010, when it was phased out in favor of Infdev, after infinite maps were to be added into the game.


Indev was initially released after Notch received requests to let the community try out new features he was implementing. Indev version 0.31 was put to the public at minecraft.net/indev and available only to people who had purchased the game. New features currently contained a more complex and realistic lighting scheme than Classic mode's and support for MD3 mob models, demonstrated by Rana. Indev received 29 updates after this, gaining a few fundamental features to Minecraft as it went, which are listed below. During its lifespan, some updates were devoted mostly for testing new things, like Torches or Fire. As it progressed, its game play became standardized to that of Minecraft today, however with far fewer features.


When Indev was started, players were greeted with the newly added title screen, and the options to create a map or load a previous map. When creating a map, players had to assign four characteristics to their maps, the type, the shape, the size and the theme. The map would then be created and spawn them in an "Indev House". An Indev House was a 7 block wide x 7 block long x 4 block tall structure, with a 1 x 2 hole for players to exit and two Torches on the interior. The House would be formed around a player's spawn point. An Indev house began made of Mossy Cobblestone (which was unavailable naturally on the map anywhere else) and Chests filled with TNT, a full stack (99 at the time) of every type of Block and every type of Item. As Indev progressed from testing items and blocks to testing the actual survival aspect, these Chests were removed. Later still, the design of the house was changed. The floor was made Stone and the walls and roof were made of Planks.
