Helloto all!

I am testing the latest Rhino version (Rhino 7), and I realize that there is no option to set a boundary when working with hatches. This was an option in every previous Rhino version. I am mostly working with technical design (Architectural mostly) and 2D drawing on Rhino is crucial for my work. On Rhino 7 I have to draw manually new boundary lines to get the hatch correct like I want it to be. That is very very time consuming procedure when before was 2 clicks (or 1 second) procedure. This is a mandatory from Rhino to fix.

Best regards,

Djordje.

It is activated with hatch command. Before the hatch window appears, yes, there is a option to click the area of interest. That is true. But sometimes when having multiple lines and areas, I usually select them all, which is confusing Rhino sometimes I guess, and it is automatically selecting areas that I do not want. In the Hatch window, there was a check box for Boundary! So in that way I was able to correct if something was not like I wanted it to be. Now this check box is not there anymore.

If you are a youth or a parent of a child who would like to learn how to join Hatch, please contact our Youth Services Specialist by email at hatch...@montrosecenter.org or simply complete an intake form when you arrive at your first Hatch meeting.

The groups are comprised of introductions, social time, programming, and small group, and are curated by Hatch staff and trained volunteer facilitators. Youth have access to role models and peer support and can participate in special projects and events, including Hatch Prom and walking in the annual Pride Houston 365 Parade. There are no costs for any activities.

--In paperspace: I create a polyline and then fill it with a hatch. When I try to select the hatch to edit it, I can only select them both, which prevents me from editing the hatch. They are not a group or a block. When I select them and examine the properties window, I get the "All (2)" listed in the object type dropdown menu at the top.

to say No instead. To make new ones that are not Associative [if you'd rather do it one of these ways rather than by way of the HPASSOC System Variable -- same result], un-select that option in either the Ribbon or the BHatch dialog box [both here showing it selected]:

i lost that too, so thank you for sharing that with us all. In the meantime, i started using the ECAD area, also found under the engineering tab, it appears to do the same thing, plus you have more control over the hatch style.

I advise against using cosmetics for anything except threads, unless there's no other way. You can add x-hatching to a datum curve, and the curves are more robust (can reference geometry), and will hide behind other geometry. Cosmetics give problems in those areas. I never use them.

I can if needed, however, on a whim, I removed the hatch symbol from that particular layer and added it again. The behavior returned to normal. I also noticed that the layer has other problems with drawing order (didn't match ArcMap). I have a few symbols that are hatches that overlay the solid fills. The symbol that I found the original problem on was a single symbol. This layer is my zoning districts including overlay districts and it has 21 different symbols associated with it. I have a feeling that because it is so complex, something must have happened during the conversion process from ArcMap into Pro and resulted in this strange drawing behavior.

Honestly, I think its ok for now. I'm confident it had to with the import but things seem to be working now. It's just important to note for those importing from ArcMap, that you should check everything to make sure there were no errors. This being a new system, it works a bit different and there is no good way to have a perfect transition. I actually like the controls for symbology in Pro. Much less windows to work with, that's for sure.

Did you use any graphics in the data view of your mxd? My org's zoning maps have the hatching in an overlay layer separate from the main layer so I don't see your flipped symbology issue when importing the mxd into Pro. Unfortunately, all of the graphics in the data view get wiped out in the conversion due to no current support of graphics in the data view in Pro for the zoning maps.
