HelloSimonWitney , there are a lot of apps. If you're just getting started then I recommend using Shopify's own app Digital Downloads which is Free to use and a simple and easy setup. Don't worry about the ratings, they could be due to past experience with the app. But, now it's much improved in my opinion.

Hello!

I'm Alessandro, owner of Sky Pilot. If you have just one e-book, probably our app suits you best because you can use the free version, and you will have a streamlined experience and a great support team always willing to help. You will be able to choose between downloadable e-book or streamed, directly on your website (or both!).

If you ever want more features, you can always upgrade to paid plans and enjoy stamping, streaming, integrations, etcetc.

If you want, I'd be happy to jump on a quick call (for free) to show you around and understand better your needs. Just install the app (it's free), reach out to support and I will personally jump on a call with you, at your most convenient time

You can browse or App Store here for more related apps. Consider taking advantage of the trial periods to play around and test the individuals apps and see which one suits you best.

How has your experience been with the platform thus far? Have you encountered any situations where you could benefit from assistance or guidance? Let me know! Additionally, I recommend exploring this informative blog that provides valuable insights for getting started with selling digital assets.

I contacted the Shopify support but so far they were not able to find any issues - so they say - and think there must be something wrong 'on my side'. Well ... I don't have much options to change settings. And why should I?

I am using the classic customer accounts (and I am not going to change that, as I don't like the features for the new accounts). The classic customer account hasn't got much options for the customer itself to edit their account either. Lets say they want to change their password inside their customer account. How do they do that? It's not possible.

I would like to get someone onto it and helping me who is actually knowledgeable as I have the feeling that the customer service in Shopify itself is driven by boots or automated answers even when I 'speak to a person'. Phrases over phrases but no help really.

What is the best memory buffer size to allocate to download a file from Internet? Some of the samples said that it should be 1K. Well, I need to know in general why is it? And also what's the difference if we download a small .PNG or a large .AVI?

For what it's worth, I tested reading a 1484 KB text file using progressive powers of two (sizes of 2,4,8,16...). I printed out to the console window the number of milliseconds required to read each one. Much past 8192 it didn't seem like much of a difference. Here are the results on my Windows 7 64 bit machine.

Use at least 4KB. It's the normal page size for Windows (i.e. the granularity at which Windows itself manages memory), which means that the .Net memory allocator doesn't need to break down a 4KB page into 1KB allocations.

Third, array data structure in C# occupies some bytes more than the content itself (it stores array size and other informations). If you allocate page size amount of bytes, using the array will switch page almost always!

In some cases you can find out (or know, or hack around in a debugger and hence find out albeit in a non-change-resistant way) the size of a buffer used by the stream(s) you are writing to or reading from. In this case it will give a slight advantage if you match that size, or failing that, for one buffer to be a whole multiple of the other.

When choosing the best free download manager for you, you'll want to start with considering how simple the download process is. Does it happen swiftly in a few steps, or is it an elaborate process that demands file decompressing and extraction?

Media previews and download scheduling are convenient features, but not all download managers offer this. Look out for privacy protection features and check whether the software comes with pesky adware.

The best free download managers provide the ability to organize, prioritize, and streamline your downloads. They provide stability over using a web browser to download files, especially several at once.

Its interface is simple and modern (if a little dark), and its accelerator can help you get your files 10 times faster. It does this by splitting each file into chunks, then downloading each one using a different server connection, making downloads not only faster, but also more reliable. If you're into music and movies you'll be delighted by its sequential setting, which lets you begin playing a file while it's still downloading.

It can crawl sites to download specific kinds of files, and you can choose to download only the bits of a ZIP file you actually want. For us, it's an exceptional program, and a true contender for the top spot.

It's really one for power users, with support for over 300 decryption plugins, automatic RAR extraction, password list searching and OCR to complete some of the captcha 'I'm not a robot' checks you encounter on download sites.

There are other things, besides the interface, that make JDownloader feel dated. You'll need the Java Runtime Environment to run it, and to be careful when installing it not to install the bundled adware. Beware, also fake 'download' buttons on the site; the actual download link is a line of text, not a button graphic.

We tested various free download managers to determine their performance. We looked at the ease of finding and download the manager, the download speeds, interface, learning curve, and privacy features.

So I am currently knees-deep in saving all my articles from over the years in Obsidian, and it is working very well with the markdownload-extension. Until I recently got to some wikipedia articles, which look like this:

Those reference-links are being interpreted from obsidian as Note-References, and it would be too much work to clean every wikipedia-article manually. What is the best approach to download Wiki-Articles?

HOLY MOLY. I just found this Website which displays wikipedia articles as just text, listing all the external linnks neatly at the bottom. Here as an example the articale about andrew callaghan: Andrew Callaghan - Wikipedia Text Only, Convert to PDF (thetimetube.com)

What you cannot do, is have a download fail and resume automatically or be interrupted and resume when the connection is stable; Download Manager (S3) does not seem to do this since I tried it and I had to manually resume every single one of my downloads.

The Download Manager you use and the Best one to use depends on your OS . In Linux - the best I have found is UGet download manager.Combined with Curl and Aria2 it has not failed to do any download I chose to enter into it.For windows - the Best depends on How you will use it. Trial and Error will get you the results you need to determine which YOU choose as being the best.
