I am using Iphone 5s 64gb last night i have updated my IOS to 9.0.2. In morning when i woke up i saw my phone was updated and was working perfect but at evening when i want to take picture i opened my iphone back camera so it was showing a black screen and giving an error of Flash is Disabled "The Iphone need to cool down before you can use the flash". but my front camera was working perfectly i restarted it but it doesn't work the Iphone was cooled and was not having any hotting problem.

This Same thing happened to my Iphone 6, and It was brought 3 days before, I followed every possible instruction like resetting, restarting, updating, cooling the phone, but nothing worked for me. I decided to take off the sim card and keep it off for 4, 5 hours, I took the sim card out, and decided to try the camera once again, before turning the device off, and with a surprise it showed up and there was no more annoying error. Well I don't think there is some connection between sim card and Camera, but this worked and there is still no issue after one day. Its working just like before.

Had the same issue of camera not working and flash disabled due to overheating. Just came back from the Apple Store and Genius Bar And thought I had to replace the phone as reset and restore did not work. Checked this thread and tried removing the SIM. It worked!!! Both camera and flash are working normally now. Many thanks.

If this does not work, and to make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone.

i had tried all the thing but at last i go to technician so it was a hardware problem, my back camera was not working thats why flash was giving error. He changed the camera, now camera and flash both are now working perfectly.

I get the same error. When i open the camera it opens on back camera but get black screen when i switch to front camera, front camera works ok aand once i switch back the flash error is shown in the corner. i reset phone and still doent work any tips? there is a new camera in it so guess this is a software problem.

My IPad is telling me that it needs to cool down flash disabled. To use front camera. iPad is cool and there is no flash on my iPad. So the warning is false. Is there away to remove and reinstall the camera app?
