I was hoping to get some feedback from people who have virtualized Windows 2000 guests using Hyper-V. I have 20-30 Windows 2000 web servers that I'm looking to virtualize with Hyper-V but from what I can tell, there seems to be some serious drawbacks to virtualizing Windows 2000 with Hyper-V.

What serious drawbacks have you heard of? The primary problem with virtualizing Windows 2000 is the fact that W2K doesn't support VSS, which means you can't do an online P2V... you have to shut it down to virtualize the server. This is an OS limitation and not a virtualization platform limit though, and applies to both Hyper-V and VMWare.

Overall I've been happy with hyper-v server. We ended up going with it because I like the path that it was heading on the free side over what vmware was doing for free. Both are good platforms but for people like me that are primarily windows shops and have a very very small virtualization budget it's great.

I have run dos 6 and Windows 3 on hyper v (for a joke!). I have not really seen any problems and it should work fine, that being said however, as a personal choice I would go with VMWare if I had the option - I am sure hyper V will get there, but I would like to see another version or two before I fully trusted it.

Merci.

It seems like the radar is pretty underwhelming, it feels like a copy paste F-16 radar. Although doing some quick research the specific version of the APG-76 used by the Kurnass 2000 should have synthetic aperture, better resolution and range, lower susceptibility to notching, better countermeasure discrimination, etc etc.

it never had AIM-7s or AIM-120s, the Kurnass 2000 was a ground attacker, it had sparrow wells but these were used as hardpoints for other weapons most frequently dispensers and extra SRAAMs, but also sometimes bombs, rockets, etc.

This topic in my opinion is quite good to have open, mostly because we currently lack proper implementation of synthetic aperture radars which, let's be real, would be near impossible to notch or counter. If they decide to implement the F-4-2000 with PW1242s and maaaaybe give it some better potential ordnance ( the same could most likely be done with the Kurnass 2K right now) it would be potentially one of the best fighters in the game.

The Saucony Kinvara is a popular shoe, and is well worth considering as a transition between a traditional shoe like the Asics GT 2000 and a highly cushioned Maximalist shoe or a light weight optimal shoe like the Hyper Speed. While I like the Kinvara as a transitional shoe, it's heavier, but provides similar levels of cushioning. I find it hard to justify the extra weight of the Kinvara, and I'd put on the Hyper Speed over the Kinvara every time.

I like to compare shoes against the Asics GT 2000 as it represents the traditional running shoe. The GT 2000 is over engineered and includes many things I dislike in traditional running shoes. These excessive features go against The Science of Running Shoes and are more likely to cause problems than solve them. The GT 2000 has an advantage over the Hyper Speed with better padding in the upper, especially in the tongue and ankle opening. However, in every other area the Hyper Speed is vastly better. The Hyper Speed is just over half the weight of the GT 2000, but provides better cushioning and is a lot more flexible. Running in the GT 2000 after the Hyper Speed feels like you've put on a wooden clog. The weight difference impacts your Running Economy, and the calculations suggest that an average runner in the Hyper Speed is around 8 seconds/mile faster than in the GT 2000. (In practice, I feel like it's a bigger difference than that.)

The frequencies of the softest polar optic phonons of tetragonal SrTiO3are accurately determined using high-resolution hyper-Raman spectroscopy onoriented-domain crystals. The splitting of the polar soft mode in the tetragonal phase isquantitatively related to the 105 K structural transition,i.e., to the rotation of theoxygen octahedra and to the associated macroscopic strains. In addition to quantum fluctuations, these tetragonal distortions are foundto be essential in preventing the ferroelectric transition.

I was installing Small Business Server 2000 in Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 and I stumble upon small road-block. Once server came to "Installing Devices" part of installation, it just stayed there. No matter how long you wait, no progress will be made.

In order to emulate old hardware as much as possible, I decided to use "Run an older operating system, such as Windows NT". It ends up that Small Business Server 2000 is quite allergic to that and once that was unchecked, everything went smoothly.

While I know that Windows NT isn't same operating system as Windows Server 2000, I figured that little bit of backward compatibility didn't hurt anybody. However, in this particular case, it seems that same setting that makes Windows NT work properly is one that does quite the opposite for Windows 2000.

Additionally, since you cannot install Hyper-V integration services on original Small Business Server 2000, I decided to go with Legacy Network adapter instead of synthetic one. This may slow down things a little, but I figured that speed of new "virtual hardware" will make up for that.

This study examined causes of elevated serum creatine kinase (hyper-CK-emia) and its frequencies in a neurological department. Few data are available about this topic. We retrospectively evaluated the medical records of all inpatients with hyper-CK-emia greater than 70 U/L admitted to our department between October 1995 and October 1998.

Among 3,601 patients admitted during this period, 426 (12%) (165 women and 261 men, age 21 to 97 years) had hyper-CK-emia. The most frequent causes of hyper-CK-emia were stroke (21%), trauma (18%), idiopathic hyper-CK-emia (14%), and seizures (12%). In 42 patients, two or three causes for hyper-CK-emia were found. Depending on the diagnostic group, mean CK ranged between 129 U/L (thyroid dysfunction) and 882 U/L (electrolyte disturbances). A total of 72% of patients had hyper-CK-emia up to 200 U/L, and 96% up to 1,000 U/L. Only one patient had CK greater than 5,000 U/L. The oldest patients with hyper-CK-emia were those with myocardial infarction, and the youngest were those with multiple sclerosis. Hyper-CK-emia occurred more frequently in men than in women.

Hyper-CK-emia was found in 12% of the patients admitted to our neurological department. In the majority of the patients, CK elevations were only mild. The most frequent causes of hyper-CK-emia were stroke, trauma, and seizures.
