Replace E: with the CD/DVD drive you are installing from if is not correct. Replace C:\Program Files\Steam if your Steam installation is not in the default location. Press OK. Steam will launch and ask you to sign in if you do not have your password saved. Your installation should continue from the disc.

Yeah, I'm sure he will keep the updates rolling along with Bethesda's updates. I'm just kinda lazy and don't want to keep updating my Skyrim launcher, but I guess it's not too bad installing those few files.

I then went into the "Program files\steam\steam apps\common\" directory and copied the Skyrim folder (it should be about 5.6 gb big) and pasted it into the root directory of my C drive (so basicallyit was in C:\Skyrim, although I suppose you could paste it anywhere you wanted).

Cracking games is a violation of the EULA that you digitally signed when you installed Skyrim, and you are breaking your license agreement with Bethesda. They would be fully within their rights under the EULA to revoke your license to play Skyrim, or remotely kill your copy through Steam, rendering it unplayable.

However, that's between you and Bethesda; cracking your licensed copy of game isn't illegal in the sense of "the feds are going to come knocking on my door", all it does is violate your contract with Bethesda.

I have done the same thing and can now use the original [no skse] or just use the steam install, best of both worlds, and I can proberly copy mods across later and get them working in the copied skyrim folder.

I have experienced problems with being able to play the game in 'Offline Mode'. The solution involved three tasks. First I configured the TESV.exe file so that it opens under Administrator mode. Next I connected to the internet and started the game in 'Online Mode'. Then I disconnected from the internet after shutting down the game. The game starts in 'Offline Mode' now, with no problems.

My game is NOT patched to the newest version and after reading the article in the link posted herein, I will not patch it. I am concerned that if I do, then I won't be able to play in 'Offline Mode', at all.

I don't believe that any PC games should be required to access some third party's website in order to play them. It seems as though the PC gaming industry is assuming that everyone who buys a game title has internet access which I believe is very unreasonable. I wonder what happened to the companies which developed the encryption codes that were used to secure past PC game titles?

I'm going to try to uninstall it and then re-install it. Before running it, I'm going to choose not to update it. Hopefully that should work. Or, we could start an online petition to force Bethesda to release a patch/update that removes the Steam dependent feature. What about that?

however for us the consumers its really just a freed ride for steam as they now have guaranteed demographics info based on each sale of the game box. not to mention with steam workshop integration they marry steam so closely to mods some will soon come to think that the only way you can have mods is through steam. they integrated non competition right into the system and since they are fully connected to bethesda I suppose they can do as they choose.

Honestly I dont like or trust any suppliers of cracks however I would not be opposed to someone posting a method to disable steamworks using say a hex editor on the game executable. I have been looking for a no steam patch for a long time and to be honest since I actually own the game through steam my reasons for doing this are purely technical such as preventing steam from hijacking NMM commands. (Dont know why but sometimes steam just feels like opening the skyrim launcher despite NMM being set to SKSE

So yesterday i was playing skyrim as usual, but today steam updated Skyrim, and now when i try to run the game via the shortcut created by MO it opens the launcher and none of the mods installed by MO are loaded, i tried to create another shortcut but nothing changes, please help

OK, so today i tried to execute skse via MO, and it worked '-' i did absolutely nothing different from yesterday i opened MO selected SKSE and clicked run, but this time the game opened directly with all mods loaded '-' about the profile, i have only one profile on MO and tbh i didnt even know i could have more then 1 until now LOL, i dont know what to say. Thanks for replying so fast but i guess that the problem fixed itself. '-' if you still want my logs and ini i can post them tho.

your game isnt unpacked. you need to unpack it using phoenix (at least thats what i use) and then just copy the crack in the dir and wallah. youre good to go. i tried helping speak with it but for some reason his didnt register when it finished unpacking so im not sure if its because of skyrim or just his computer but yeah after it unpacks it should ask t register or something like that (not like register to a site, just to finish the installation of a game.)
