not working with iphone mumble client

I am using umurmur 0.2.15 polarssl on my dlink dir-601.  it has worked great forever, but since the upgrade, my iphone will not connect.  I keep getting this error message, whether on my local wifi with the server or on cellular connection.  I have also included the error message I get in openwrt system log.  my friends have android and they can connect, and I haven't heard anyone having problems with computers connecting either.

Anything else that changed besides uMurmur version? What PolarSSL version are you using? The error code indicates that reading of the client's public key failed.

I'm running polarssl 1.3.8-1.  I tried deleting the certificate from the iphone and generating a new one, but that did nothing at all, same exact issue.
