Hi,

I recently installed umurmur on my Synology DS214Play and everything was allright with the default config, until I decided to change the config file.

There is the umurmur.conf I modified :

When I tried to restart umurmur from the package center, I got an error called something like "Failed to repair the umurmur package" ("échec lors du lancement de la réparation du paquet" in french)

Could someone tell me what I've been doing wrong please?

Thanks,

Sfyle

Hi,

Hard to tell without a log, but the line with 'ca_path' look suspicious. Try commenting that out.

/Martin

Well that's the same line as I found in the default configuration, I didn't change anything there.

Things I did change are :

*welcome text
*max user
*password
*admin password
*enable_ban = true
*banfile
*sync_banfile = true
*max users = 20
*channels
*channels links
*default channel

All the rest of the file should be the same as the default config I found here : https://code.google.com/p/umurmur/wiki/Configuring02x

I find out where the problem was, but I really can't explain it.

As soon as I change something (anything) in the channels, it doesn't work anymore.

I started again from the basic config file and changed everything line by line, it stopped working when I changed a channel name, or even a channel description...

Maybe it can help you to understand my problem? :)

Thanks,

Sfyle

Hi Sfyle

As far as I can tell, you've got some syntax errors in the file you have put up on pastebin

On line 95, there is an extraneous comma
On line 105 there is a comma missing
On line 107, the capitalisation of "Red team" is wrong
On line 109 there is another missing comma

I've put up a corrected version of your config (http://pastebin.com/Q1z4nJ9w)

Aside from that, I'm not even sure that it's technically a uMurmur related error message. I could not find any part of the code, that would generate this message
,especially since we haven't localised uMurmur.

I'm by no means an expert on running uMurmur on Synology devices, but to me it seems more like an operating system error message of some sort.

Thanks for the corrected code !

It helped a lot, i guess : now the server is working online (i don't lose any ping packet through the internet) but as soon as I try to get connected, the server is shutting down.

I've been looking into the /etc/usr/local/umurmur/umurmurd.log and here is what I got :

Aug 28 20:03:14 INFO: User DUVEL authenticated - [1] DUVEL@xxx
Aug 28 20:03:14 INFO: New UDP connection port 50028 - [1] DUVEL@xxx
Aug 28 20:03:22 INFO: Connection closed by peer - [1] DUVEL@xxx

Aug 28 20:25:24 WARN: SSL: verify error:num=18:self signed certificate:depth=0:/CN=Utilisateur Mumble
Aug 28 20:25:24 INFO: User provided admin password - [1] Sfyle@xxx
Aug 28 20:25:24 INFO: User Sfyle authenticated - [1] Sfyle@xxx
Aug 28 20:25:25 INFO: New UDP connection port 58057 - [1] Sfyle@xxx
Aug 28 20:26:06 INFO: Connection closed by peer - [1] Sfyle@xxx
Aug 28 20:26:19 INFO: TERM signal. Shutting down.

The 3 first lines are written when I was with the default configuration (20:03) and the following are after the change of channels (thanks to Felix correction)

Is there another log that would be more accurate on the problem somewhere else?

Regards !
