Subject: Ama Ndigbo 2011 - Daalu Rinne!

Ndewoo nu Ama Ndigbo Participants,

On behalf of 100 Igbos USA, INC., I thank you for your participation in the just concluded Ama Ndigbo 2011, held in Atlanta, Georgia. This year’s gathering of umuigbo from all across the nation had the feel of a true a “gathering of umunne" (the Igbo brotherhood). Everyone pitched in to make the conference a great success.

Ndigbo have been gathering at the Ama (Igbo public square) like this for centuries to exchange ideas, educate, socialize and empower a new generation to carry on the values, ideals and norms of Igbo civilization. As the world and our lot (Uwandigbo) continue to change, we must adapt the way we live out the core values of our people.  Ama Ndigbo has given us a platform to examine our history, culture, philosophy and worldview with a view to strengthening that which is good and productive, while eliminating those that are harmful and retrogressive.

We must therefore continue to support, grow, and strengthen our "Ama" by sharing ideas on how this forum can serve you and the Igbo community better, by volunteering time and resources to serve in various committees with all of our might, and love, when we know we can, and by acting as a "voice" for this project, in our various regions to mobilize more families to attend Ama Ndigbo.  Let's start now so Ama Ndigbo 2012 will be even greater than 2011!

We are exploring the idea of bimonthly tele-seminar to continue the dialogue we began in Atlanta, and a fresh troop of young volunteers is being mobilized to help spread the word and keep the movement alive in between conferences. As a partner and participant we are grateful that you helped move this project forward.  I would like to send out special thanks to our entertainment crew, Ndi Akporo Dike, Koleurz, and Jimmy Sugarcane.  These young people brought themselves to Atlanta at their own expense, and they entertained us well.

Please let us stay connected via Facebook, the 100 Igbos website, emails, and phone-calls when possible.

Jidenu ka unu ji.
