Chancellor Junior School
Standard 4A (Mrs. Cox) - 1956 What a wonderful few days I have had trying to identify the year of this class but also to name the individuals. Even better was the response from you - a minor disappointment was that a few individuals, in the photograph, never replied - maybe they have bad memories.
End result - I say this is Standard 4A (Mrs. Cox) in 1956. Personally I went to U.B.H.S in 1957 so was in Mr. Morris Young's class in 1956.
For interest sake, two boys, Dave Bowman (back row left) and John Carhart both joined the Royal Rhodesian Air Force and underwent technical training at the Halton Base of the Royal Air Force. On his return, John, underwent Pilot Training and received his Wings with 20 PTC in June 1967. Yvonne Borradaile married Doug Pasea, a navigator in the Rhodesian Air Force.
Below the actually photograph are the names submitted to me. I leave it to you to sort them out - beyond my focus and remember, one mistake and your are hunted down!
In the meanwhile, thanks to everybody and to special thanks to Yvonne for sharing her photograph and memories with us all. Message for hubby Doug, when the old man isn't looking please give Yvonne a big hug from all of us Chancellor students.

John Cahart and Robert Coltman may have been in the photo. Eddie Norris thinks he may have been in this class, too, but if so, I've no idea which one he is.

Interesting photo. The facts that I do know for sure is that I was in the same class as Nigel Gardiner and Bugs Dryburgh. I was the same year as Roy Coltman and John Carhart, although when we got to High School they went to the B stream, and I stayed in the A stream. To the left of Nigel Gardiner I am sure it is Bob Oddy. 3rd from left in the back row is Eddy Fourie I think. Now, I was in 4A, Mrs Cox class in 1956, std 5 in 1957, and started at UBHS in 1958. Now, who is the chap back row extreme left? As for the girls, the only name I can think of is Val Rowles, who married Kevin Leonard who was Radio in the Airforce. Possibly she is second row from the front, 3rd from left. It would be nice to see all the names., someone will know.

Back row 6 is me (John Coleman), second row 10 is Peter Wilkins, front row 2 is Robert Oddy, 8 Mike Drury. I can'remember the girls but I think 3rd row 7 is Ossa Hassing.

I was at UJS in that year but of course we all went on to UBHS and so many of those faces look familiar.
Well done on putting all the fragments of our history together.
